This session explores the treatment of opioid dependence in HIV/AIDS prevention - particularly opioid substitution treatment - and introduces the new WHO Guidelines on ‘Psychosocially Assisted Pharmacological Treatment of Opioid Dependence’ – a toolkit for the evaluation of opioid substitution treatment programmes.
