Getting Un-Hooked: Tackling Scotland's Drug Problem
8th December 2008 (Edinburgh, UK)
This conference will examine the Scottish Government’s new Drug Strategy and consider how it can best be implemented. It will consider the interaction between illicit substance misuse and wider social inequalities, as well as how to best include social reintegration as an integral part of drug treatment.

Joining the Dots: Criminal Justice, Treatment and Harm Reduction
25th to 27th March 2009 (Krakow, Poland)
This is the first conference of the new ‘Connections’ project. The aim of the conference is to facilitate the development of knowledge and an evidence base for different harm reduction and drug-free interventions for drug users, which can be implemented throughout all the phases of the criminal justice process – from arrest, through police detention, prosecution and incarceration, to release and supervision in the community.

Harm Reduction 2009: IHRA's 20th International Conference
19th to 23rd April 2009 (Bangkok, Thailand)
IHRA and the Conference Consortium are pleased to announce the latest in a long-running series of international harm reduction conferences. In April 2009, as the conference once again comes to Thailand, the theme will be “Harm Reduction and Human Rights”. These five-day events include high-profile keynote speakers, plenary sessions, symposia, training events, a film festival, poster presentations, and satellite meetings. They have become must attend events for the harm reduction community.

9th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP)
9th to 13th August 2009 (Bali, Indonesia)
The theme for this event is 'Empowering People, Strengthening Networks'. With increased mobility in-country and migration across borders, nations can no longer expect to work alone in its response to HIV and AIDS, and so working with people (rather than countries) is increasingly important, as is enabling regional and international co-operation through networks.

Reform: The International Drug Policy Reform Conference
11th to 14th November 2009 (Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA)
This is the "world's premier gathering of people who believe that the war on drugs is doing more harm than good". Topics for discussion include alternatives to prohibition, civil liberties, drug testing, harm reduction and legislative reform.
