Programme & Abstracts - Thailand

The abstract submission deadline for Harm Reduction 2009 has now passed.

In December 2008, the Executive Programme Committee will meet and create the conference programme based on the submitted abstracts and the conference theme – 'Harm Reduction and Human Rights'.

The annual IHRA conferences include around 60 sessions, 200 oral presentations and 400 poster presentations. Some of these sessions are organised in advance and others are created from the abstracts which are submitted online each year. At Harm Reduction 2009, there will be:

Plenary Sessions organised by the EPC. Each of these is the focus of the conference programme at that time and will attract over 1,000 delegates.

Major Sessions - three at any one time - which may be organised by the EPC or from the submitted abstracts, and will attract around 300 delegates each.

Concurrent Sessions - typically six at any one time - which attract up to 150 delegates each. In the vast majority of cases, these sessions are created from the submitted abstracts.

There will also be a range of other more interactive sessions and workshops throughout the programme.

A draft conference programme will be available to view on this page in early 2009.
