The Film Festival screens documentaries, advocacy films, training videos, and fictional work relevant to reducing drug and alcohol related harms. Films shown at the event have subsequently been used for advocacy purposes in many countries.
The MTV International Drugs and Harm Reduction Film Festival 2011 screens documentaries, advocacy films, training videos, and fictional work relevant to reducing drug and alcohol related harms. Films shown at the event have subsequently been used for advocacy purposes in many countries.
The response this year was unprecedented, with over 80 films submitted. Thirty-five films from regions as diverse as Latin America, Africa, Central Asia, the Middle East and Europe have been selected for screening. This year we are delighted to announced that Lebanese broadcaster MTV has agreed to sponsor the event and the festival team are equally excited about a ground breaking public programme being screened at the Metropolis Arts Cinema Empire Sofil in Beirut's centre on Saturday April 2nd to be opened by TV personality Georges Kordahi.
HR:2011 Delegates Film Festival
The delegate's festival will be opened by Miss Lebanon on Monday April 4th at the Habtoor hotel, the host venue of the International Harm Reduction Conference 2011.

It is our hope that both the public programme and MTV partnership bring the films and thier issues to the attention of broader audiences in Lebanon and indeed the Middle East and North African region.

Public Screenings
In addition to the films screened during the programme there will also be public screenings of eight films between 12.00 and 18.00 on Saturday 2nd April at the Metropolis Art Cinema, Empire Sofil - Achrafieh, in Beirut.
