Governance

 IHRA is an international, not-for-profit NGO and a company limited by guarantee in accordance with company law in England and Wales. It is also a registered UK charity (Charity Number 1117375). A summary of IHRA's governance and activities will be found in the introduction to the most recent Audited Financial Accounts. IHRA’s governing body is the Board of Directors (the Board) which comprises all of the Directors and any co-opted members. The Board meets approximately four times a year. The formal document establishing IHRA in 1996 includes details of the aims, objectives and powers of the association in accordance with company law in England and Wales. This document was updated in 2010.

As a company limited by guarantee, there are certain rules and regulations governing how IHRA operates, which are set out in the Articles of Association (which were revised 2010) and the Conflicts of Interest Policy.

Financial Documents

IHRA submits annual financial accounts as required under company law in England and Wales. IHRA’s income comes from membership fees, donations (personal and corporate), multi- and bi-lateral agencies, foundations and trusts, and conferences.

Each year IHRA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held at its annual conference.
