
The Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disability (GRID) in Chandigarh provides health and education services to more than 450 special children. Recently, fifteen special students from GRID secured campus placements, marking the first time that such a large number of students have been placed in industry. They are currently participating in a 21-day on-the-job training program and will receive a monthly salary of Rs 8800, as well as benefits such as food, transport, EPF, ESI, medical insurance, and other perks. Their annual salary is expected to be around one lakh rupees.
