₹2 crore granted for the repair and maintenance of Dr. Ambedkar Bhawans in Punjab

The Punjab government has released an amount of Rs 2 crore for the repair and maintenance of Dr BR Ambedkar buildings in the state. These buildings are named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who was an Indian jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer. The amount has been released for the districts of Amritsar, Patiala, Sangrur, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Rupnagar, Moga, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Kapurthala, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. According to Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, the repair and maintenance work will help improve the standard of living for people belonging to SC, BC categories and other poor sections. In addition to the repair and maintenance work, the government has decided to set up Dr. Ambedkar Bhavan in every district. These facilities will provide a range of services and support under one roof for people belonging to SC, BC categories and other poor sections.
