Washington The US military is facing its biggest shortage of soldiers and officers in five decades. There is also a shortage of soldiers in the Air Force and Navy. According to the ata released from the US Department of Defense Pentagon, there was a 25% decrease in the recruitment of soldiers last year. This is the first time since 1973 that the US Army is facing such a problem. Experts have called it a threat to the security of the country. This year also the target does not seem to be fulfilled. Officers attribute the reasons to the low unemployment rate, lack of recruitable youth as well as lack of interest among the younger generation to join the military.
