A person who was taking animals for slaughter was caught, 18 animals were rescued

Police nabbed a person who was carrying cattle in a truck for slaughter, while his accomplice fled. 18 animals have been recovered from the truck. Anurag Verma, a resident of Malerkotla, told the police in the complaint that he is the head of the Gau Raksha Dal, Malerkotla. He came to know that some persons do the business of transporting animals from Punjab to outside states with the intention of slaughtering them in trucks. He will go towards Ludhiana from Lehragaga today via Sangrur and Dhuri. Later he along with his companions started searching for the truck at Dhuri Road Malerkotla and within no time the truck arrived.

Seeing the driver, the truck fled and went towards Khanna Road. They put their car behind the truck and surrounded the truck after coming to Mandiya. Meanwhile, Malerkotla resident Shaukat Ali was caught, while the rest of the accused also fled. Police have registered a case against Shaukat Ali, Dilshad alias Shammi resident of Malerkotla, Satoj resident of Kala Bhat, Tohana resident of Raj, Haji Dilshad resident of Patiala in police station Sadar Ahmedgarh.
