
West Indies sacks coach Courtney Walsh after team’s poor performance
Cricket West Indies has sacked head coach Courtney Walsh after reviewing the women's team's performance in recent times. Assistant coaches Robert Samuels and Corey Collymore also could not retain their positions. The Board's Director of Cricket, Jimmy Adams, said: 'We are extremely grateful for the contribution Courtney and his technical team have made over the last two and a half years. We wish him all the best. The West Indies team Could not make it to the knockout round in the T20 World Cup held in Africa. Under Walsh's coaching, the team has won 7 out of 24 T20s and 11 out of 32 ODIs. The most notable performance of the team during this period was the home and away series win against Pakistan in 2021. Apart from this, in 2022 the team reached the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup.
