In the ongoing HCS recruitment scam case in Hisar, the sessions court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of nine additional accused. This comes after the rejection of anticipatory bail pleas for 20 accused on August 4, most of whom had approached the High Court and obtained anticipatory bail. However, they were subsequently summoned by the court, and their hearings are still pending.
The HCS recruitment scam dates back to 2001 when the Anti Corruption Bureau filed a charge sheet in the court. During the tenure of former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, 66 posts of HCS (Haryana Civil Services) were filled through recruitment. However, allegations of irregularities and corruption arose, leading to an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The accused in this case include the former secretary of the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC), five former members of the commission, nine examiners, and thirteen individuals who were selected for HCS positions. The court’s rejection of anticipatory bail for these accused individuals indicates the seriousness of the charges against them and the need for further investigation and legal proceedings.
