Haryana: Smuggler arrested with 1.35 kg opium

Panchkula | The team of Sector-19 Crime Branch arrested an accused with 1.35 kg of opium and produced him in the court on Sunday. The court has sent the accused on police remand for four days. The name of the accused is Dharambir, who is a resident of Bareilly in UP. During the remand, the police will find out about the drug smuggling gang from the accused. Sector-19 Crime Branch Incharge Karmbir Singh told that the Crime Branch team was on patrolling in Pinjore area on 17th June. During the same time information about drug smuggling was received by the accused. As soon as the information was received, the crime branch team reached Madhawala area. There the accused was waiting for someone on the road. When police took the accused into custody and checked, opium was recovered. After this, a case was registered against the accused under the NDPS Act at the Pinjore police station and he was arrested and presented in the court.
