Mention of Khalistan removed from NCERT’s 12th book

New Delhi| It has been decided to remove the mention of Khalistan from the NCERT 12th book. This information has been given by School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar. Last month, SGPC chief Harjinder Singh Dhami demanded removal of the controversial content from the book. In a letter written to NCERT, he had said that while removing the mention of Khalistan from the class 12 textbook, the point in which Sikhs have been described as separatists should also be removed. Dhami had said that wrong information has been recorded in the book about Sri Anandpur Sahib Sankalp. The JEEP had demanded removal of the words read from the Anandpur Sahib resolution of 1973, which are presenting different image of Sikh community in front of new generation.
