Pakistan Cricket Board gives domestic contracts to 360 cricketers

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made a significant move by awarding domestic contracts to a total of 360 cricketers from 18 regional teams for the upcoming 2023-24 season. This is a substantial increase compared to previous seasons, almost doubling the number of contracts given out. While the specific names of the players have not been announced yet, the PCB has provided some details regarding the categorization and remuneration.
Out of the 360 contracted players, 20 will be placed in the A+ category, while the remaining 340 will be distributed among categories A to F. The A+ category is reserved for the top performers, and these players will receive a monthly salary of Rs 54,000. The selection criteria for the A+ category includes the top four batsmen and top five bowlers from the past three seasons of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, which is the premier domestic first-class tournament in Pakistan.
