On June 12, during a blockade in Gurdaspur, the police arrested four youths who were found to be in possession of 15 grams of heroin and drug money amounting to Rs 99,400. The arrested individuals have been identified as Gurpreet Singh (alias Sajan) from Chheharta, Rahul from Amritsar, Nikhil Kumar from Islamabad Amritsar, and Daljit Singh from Bhura Kona Khemkaran Tarn Taran. It has been discovered that these individuals have links with gangsters and terrorists who are currently incarcerated in jails in Pakistan, Dubai, and Punjab. Acting on a tip from the accused, the police also arrested their accomplidditionally, at the instance of accused Daljeet, the police recovered two pistols and 42 live rounds.
