New Delhi | Tesla, the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, is once again trying to come to India. India is also an attractive market for Tesla under the China Plus One policy of American companies. In this connection, top executives of Tesla are coming to India this week. Earlier, Tesla had tried to sell its imported cars in India and tried to reduce the import duty but it did not work. Tesla had also opened an office in India but that too is inactive after the resignation of its senior official. It is now reported that during their visit to India, Tesla executives will meet officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, besides government representatives from other departments, to discuss local sourcing of components for its electric car models.
