Test rankings: Ashwin remains on top in bowling, Williamson becomes No. 1 batsman

In the latest ICC Test rankings released on Wednesday, Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin retained his top spot as the world’s best Test bowler with 860 ranking points. Australia captain Pat Cummins moved up two places to the second spot with 826 points. Meanwhile, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson overtook England’s Joe Root to become the number one batsman with a rating of 883 in the Test rankings.
The Indian team, which lost the World Test Championship final to New Zealand last month, retained its top spot in the team rankings. Ravindra Jadeja, another Indian player, topped the list of all-rounders with 434 points. Ashwin remained at the second spot in the all-rounder rankings, while Akshar Patel slipped to the fifth spot. Rishabh Pant is the top-ranked Indian batsman at number 10 in the Test rankings.
