A businessman from Mumbai was recently reunited with Rs 42 lakh that he had left behind in a taxi, thanks to the quick action of the police. Alpesh Lapsia had reported the missing bag of money to the police after realizing that he had left it in the taxi while traveling from Gulalwadi to Ghatkopar on Monday night.
The police were able to track down the taxi using CCTV footage and the e-challan machine, which helped them identify the driver. Although the driver was aware of the large sum of money in the bag, he had not reported it to the authorities. Despite this, no case was registered against him.
