Weightlifting: Olympic medalist Chanu-Bindiarani to play in Asiad

India has announced its four-member weightlifting team for the upcoming Asian Games in China, scheduled for September-October. The team includes world and Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu, who will compete in the 49kg category. Bindiarani Devi, who has won silver medals at both the Commonwealth Games and Asian Championships, will participate in the 55kg category. Additionally, the team features Commonwealth Games champion Achinta Sheuli and National Games champion N. Ajit, who will compete in the 73kg category.
Unfortunately, Commonwealth Games gold medalist Jeremy has been ruled out of the Asian Games due to a slipped disc. Despite this setback, the Indian weightlifting team remains strong and is expected to perform well at the upcoming event.
The selection of these talented athletes for the Asian Games is a testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport. We wish the Indian weightlifting team the best of luck as they prepare for this prestigious competition.
